Crossing Hawthorne

The ground fog over the last two days has been great, it changes the environment completely. The Art Deconess of the Caversham Centre made it look like it came from another time altogether.

Setting up Camp at Voorhoede

This weekend was the Greyton MTB race. We stayed at Voorhoede camp site just outside Caledon since there was nowhere to camp in Greyton (the one only camp site was flooded – with water, not people).

Voorhoede was fantastic and we will definitely be back, although hopefully the weather will be better next time.

The picture is a long exposure taken while Alys and Richard set up the tents (lit by the car’s headlights) and I got the fire started.

Swollen Sky

The sunset last night was dramatic, due to the gathering storm clouds (the same clouds which made my ride to work something of a cycle-swim duathlon this morning).

Another Beautiful Day in Africa

I decided to get up early to ride this morning, but didn't manage to drag myself out bed quite early enough to get any real distance in, so I took my camera instead and raced the light up the mountain. The title is what this guy said to me as he whizzed past and i think it sums it up perfectly.

WINNING! Published in Mango in-flight magazine, "Juiced".

I’m very chuffed to say my photo of folks descending Lion’s Head at night was chosen as the winning photo for the most recent edition of Mango’s in-flight magazine, ”Juiced”.

What, if anything, I actually win has yet to be determined, but the footer does promise that I ”could” win ”spectacular prizes”, so here’s hoping.

Placebos work, you better believe it!

Mark gave me these just before I did the Argus Cycle Tour. If the pro peloton is popping pills like Pac Man, then us hardcore fun-riders had better get in on the action too if we want to stand a chance!

Cape Epic Prologue, Ian Martin and Sam Moss

Ian Martin and Sam Moss powering up a very tricky bit of uphill singletrack at the Cape Epic Prologue in Tokai.

Like many of the other non-professional teams, they are using their ride to raise funds for a charity, theirs is the ”Make a Difference” Foundation.
