Ossum!

Alys and I spent a long weekend in the bungalow at Leeuwenboschfontein. The stars are just amazing from there.

I was a bit limited by my plasticky tripod blowing in the wind. The fact that there was nowhere to charge my battery also meant I only had one or two shots at this (these long exposures eat batteries for breakfast… or midnight snacks I suppose).

The perfectly moonless night makes for nice dark sky, but it also means there is no definition in the terrain.
