This Valentine’s, Alys and I decided to spend spend the day picnicking and lazing about on the lawns of Kirstenbosch. Unbeknownst to us however, so did the rest of Cape Town (The Jamali concert may have something to do with it too, whoever they are).
We gave up on the gardens and drove around Constantia until we came across a nice little field-slash-park thing which did the trick nicely.
I’m quite pleased with this image. I hope it means I’m getting better at portraits, but I may not be wholly objective about shots of this model.

Thanks Tans, she makes it super easy to take pretty pictures. The hardest part is stopping her from deleting them all :-P

You should have blurred her face out. The Internet is a dangerous place.

Dangerous? Hardly, its a carnival, just today I won 3 lotterys and was offered an amazing investment opportunity in Nigeria.

Wow, that is a stunning portrait. I have a lot of respect for those who can do portrait shots well.

Thanks Kala. I hear that 100mm lens you shoot with is great for portraits, so give it a bash :-) As they say, practice makes above average. Or something
