I love simple shots like this. I don’t think it quite classifies as abstract, but is kind of graphic-arty.

Normally I might have left the colours a bit more subdued, but I have been enjoying what Andy Bell does with his abstracts. His colours are usually good enough to eat (which is impressive, given how often the shots are of rust).

I have recently taken up mountain biking, and am thoroughly loving it. I have never had so much fun doing exercise. The bike I got as a kid, many years ago, is still serving me dutifully (thanks mom and dad!). Each time I go on a ride, the wheels buckle a bit more, and a little more canvas shows through the tyre tread. It's like one of those old horses in the movies that should be dead, but just won't give up.

This morning I wandered down to the beach to try out my new 14 stop ND filter. It only cost me R6.50 (for my massive american fan base, thats less than a buck), so after my home-made remote trigger, its my cheapest photography accessory yet!

Of course it’s actually just a bit of welding glass that I stuck to my lens with electrical tape, but hey, it does the trick.

Unfortunately there were practically no waves today, so this was the best shot I could get. Stay tuned for something better (I hope).
