I actually took this picture to check if my ”sunny sixteen” based guesswork was correct (it was).

1/400th at f8.0, ISO 100, is about right for a nice rich sky in the morning. It works well if that low morning sun is shining directly on the foreground too.

My head has become full of these numbers since starting with the Yashica 635, since it has no light meter. I never know if I’m right though unless I break out the digital.

Well, for the first time in ages, I actually got up when my alarm went off, so I had plenty of time to take pictures before work.
This was at the abandoned Clovelly station. The train still stops here sometimes, but only to step aside while another train heads in the opposite direction, no one gets off.

I went down to Clovelly corner to take some pictures with my TLR. There is some cool graffiti and urban decay there which I have attempted before, but never gotten anything I liked. Unfortunately it started raining, so I bailed pretty quickly.
Turns out the old 635 doesn’t focus as close as I had hoped though. I ended up shooting this with Sarah Jane.
